The General Electric RR9 Solenoid Relay Switch with an isolated pilot contact is an ideal replacement for older GE pilot light relays. Its momentary 24-volt switch pulses manage the open/close line voltage circuits, making it an excellent choice for vintage Bryant and Sierra systems.

• Specifications:

  • 20 Amp, 277 Volt Remote Control Relays (RR9PBP)
  • Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) maintained relay
  • 6" wire leads with a yellow plug
  • 1.5" (W) x 1.75" (D) x 2.5" (H), with a 7/8" diameter cylinder

• Five 6" Wire Leads:

  • 2 Yellow
  • 1 Black
  • 1 Red
  • 1 Blue
  • Plug end (Yellow plastic)

• Installation Notes:

  • For systems not using plug-in relays, simply cut off the yellow plastic plug.
  • Unique coil design resists burnout and includes isolated contacts within the relay.
  • Operates in any position.

  • Replaces older GE RR4, RR6, RR8, RR9 relays
  • Compatible with Sierra Electric and Bryant relays for lighted switches

Wiring Tip

• When replacing older relays like the RR8, wire colors have changed:
  • Red to Red
  • Black to Black
  • Yellow/Blue Spiral (old) to Yellow (new)
  • Blue (old) to both Blue and Yellow (new)

Replacement Guidance

• An RR9 relay can replace an RR7 model if the unused yellow leads are capped off.
